best of 2007
It’s that time of year when, apart from enduring work christmas parties, good bloggers start to compile their “best of” lists.
Everyone loves a best of list. Well, I do anyway. So I’m going to have at least two. Today:
Best runs of 2007
I should say from the outset, this list only refers to Melbourne races and is only my opinion. However, seeing as, firstly, this is my blog and, secondly, I’m more than averagely modest, good-looking, insightful and incredibly wise, you can take this list as more-or-less definitive.
- Melbourne Marathon - glorious day, wonderful course, great atmosphere, the M-bloody-CG, and a certain someone finishing under 3 hours.
- AV Burnley half marathon - another glorious day, great flat, fast course, great fast field and a PB
- Run for the kids - extremely dubious course length, but I’m willing to overlook that for the sake of a certain someone’s 15.2km-ish PB
Worst run
Sri Chinmoy Williamstown marathon - on the plus side, I had a fairly substantial PB and came 7th. On the minus side, absolutely nightmare-inducing headwind and a real flat feeling at the end.
Runs facing imminent death
Even a wonderful running city like Melbourne can only support so many fun runs.
- Run to the G - it doesn’t go to the G, just sort of in its general direction. What’s the point?
- Zatopek - I considered doing this, until I read the entry fee was $50. $50 to run around an athletics track 25 times? You’ve got to be kidding! Sorry, no dice.
Tommorow, music.
Running
No running today, unless you count running to the toilet after way too many beers. It’s the work christmas party (1 of 3). In about 4 hours there’s a reasonable chance someone will be telling the boss exactly what he/she thinks of him and/or snogging the admin assistant.
It should be fraught with interest.
Bliss.

Now you just behave yourself, don’t go getting all liquored up and photocopying your bum.
now she tells me! em you should know one drop of the demon drink and i become obnoxious loud and flirtatious and completely lose control of my punctuation…
Or perhaps not.
sounds like my xmas party…lol
