Tell the truth: when you read that title, some part of you secretly thought “stripper”. It’s okay, so did I. Even more so when I saw this picture:

What’s more, when I read that Alina Kabaeva, 24 had once posed in “daring” photographs and was renowned for her outstanding flexibility, the words “high-class hooker” jumped to mind.

Let that be a lesson to you: never assume. Alina is not some Russian hooker, she’s Vladimir Putin’s new missus and presumably the new first lady of Russia. What do you know?

It looks like old Vlado has engaged in a bit of one upmanship with his French counterpart. What, you married an Italian model/musician who’s 12 years younger than you? So what, mine is half my age and can do the Karma Sutra with her eyes closed.

Australia 2020
The big “ideas summit” is about to start, and can’t you feel the excitement? Australia’s best and brightest are on their way to Canberra to solve all our problems.

I must admit to a touch of scepticism when this idea was first raised, but now I see I was wrong. Look at the quality of the proposals, like this one from “Supertooth and Good Food Friends”:
